Most of this island is located within 10 to 15 minutes of peninsula Charleston. Two new bridges built in 2004 make travel quite a bit easier to this somewhat rural in nature area. Most of the island consists of neighborhoods with larger than the average tracts of land. Historically recognized for its rich farmland, there are ample opportunities to either buy or grow your own fresh produce on this island. Many neighborhoods also afford opportunities for water related views and activities.
